Well hello there!
Here we are again sitting in, wherever it is you’re sitting, spending these brief plant moments together. Phew. I don’t know what’s going on with you and your plants but we’re busy around these parts. Friday has officially become my plant project day so I’ve spent the day writing, watering, grooming, and just starting at plants around the house. Plus there are a bunch of new additions to the Fits & Starts plant family which will keep me extra busy on Fridays to come.
What even is this?
I still don’t know. It’s a choose my own adventure style look at plants and the plant world. Is there something you’d like to see here? Let me know!
New plants this week…
This is where I admit that I went a little plant crazy last week on Friday. With the goal of ordering one each of the plants from my most killed list I went on a plant buying spree. Welcome to the house of Kaos these eight new loves (some of which I already have elsewhere in the house and/or have killed.)
Two of the eight I wrote about already this week and you can read about them here…
But six of them are just hanging out and waiting for their moment in the plant light…
A rather phallic looking little cactus
A soft velvety green little succulent
A spider plant that I’m really hoping not to kill
Alocasia Amazonica 'Polly' that I am also hoping not to kill
A stunning and unexpected Ficus Altissima
And last but not least a Hemionitis arifolia 'Heart Fern that almost made it to the most killed list but not quite and I’m hoping to keep it off there.
Links link links links links everybody!
This week I think I’ve linked enough of my own content so I’m just sharing a couple of other posts that caught my attention.
The Princess, the Plantfluencers, and the Pink Congo Scam
I’m ever fascinated by the rare plant market. I love plants. I love them. But I don’t love them hundreds of dollars worth for a little wee plant in a tiny pot that someone has overinflated the market for. In many ways the rare plant market reminds me of the diamond market.
17 Best Houseplants For Your Bathroom
This is an older post, but one I shared with a friend this week as she thought about getting a bathroom plant. My bathroom is filled to the brim with orchids that aren’t currently blooming. With the daily steam baths they get from showers they become practically NO MAINTENANCE and I love that.
And the featured Instagram account of the week is….

Meet the amazing plant loving #hellaplants founding Lucrecer! She’s a woman on a mission to help folx not fill their plants and she brings a whole new joy to my plant stream every time she posts.
The end.
That’s it. that’s all I’ve got this week. But if you loved this pass it along to someone else. If you hated it you should let me know. Or just unsubscribe. That’s a viable option too <3
