Well hello there!
I set out for this to be a Friday newsletter but this Friday the world proved to be more than enough for me to handle without the added responsibility of a newsletter. Even if that newsletter is heavily formatted and about plants. But that doesn’t mean I’m giving up. It just means I’m a couple of days late this time. Instead I spent some time taking care of my plants and myself Friday and prepping for my human offspring’s birthday instead of taking care of this newsletter. And, you know, I think that was sensible.
What even is this?
Would you believe I still don’t quite know what this newsletter is all about. It’s an experiment. It’s play time for Cami and her plants and her love of exploring content creation platforms. It’s mostly plant related. And if you can think of something else that it should be, well I sure would appreciate it if you let me know.
New plants this week…
There are some new plants this week. Many mini plants, several of which will soon by used to fill up some adorable new bottles I bought specifically to make terrariums for the bedroom, a wee little olive tree in a little pot. I’d never seen an olive tree as a houseplant so, obviously, I had to give it a try. Plus a gorgeous bromeliad to celebrate the beginning of spring. But also my friend Mel just got one and when I saw the picture she sent I couldn’t help but snag one for myself.
Dead Plant…
There are no newly dead plants this week. But two of my orchids dropped all their blooms and I've lost a few leaves on one of my swiss cheese plants… I’m keeping an eye on it. But my succulents are doing surprisingly well. While watering from beneath seems to have done NOTHING to save my String of Pearls from their fate, it really seems to be working wonders for my other little succulent friends.
Links link links links links everybody!
No. No links. Not for you. Not this week.
This week instead of reading anything interesting I’m checking out a workshop. It’s like a masterclass for plant goodness. But it’s a paid resource so before I recommend it I want to make sure it’s worth while.
And if it’s not worth it… well there will be more fun links in the future regardless.
And the featured Instagram account of the week is….
@kinocorium
My obsession with terrariums is going to continue a bit longer, so this week I’m sharing an account over which I have been boggling this past week. Enjoy!
Did I get a Fiddle Leaf Fig from Costco?
NO. That didn’t happen. But I did get a gift card from a lovely from from a local nursery that does in fact have Fiddle Leaf Figs. And as soon as I’m able to swing by to pick one up it will be mine… Stay tuned.
The end.
That’s it for the week. Thank you all for joining me on this little plant adventure. If you liked this feel free to share it with a friend and let me know how I can improve it. If you hate this please let me know how I can make it better but also probably unsubscribe because… yeah. I’m kind of annoying <3
