Well hello there!
I set out for this to be a weekly Friday newsletter. Weekly as in every week and Friday as in on Fridays. I’ve kind of grandly failed at that for the past few weeks. It’s enough to make me want to crawl into a hole of embarrassment and never write to you all again. But no. Let’s not let that happen. I’m bigger than my own failures and inconsistencies. And so I present to you edition 11 of my newsletter. It will have some content about plants.
What even is this?
Would you believe I still don’t quite know what this newsletter is all about. It’s an experiment. It’s play time for Cami and her plants and her love of exploring content creation platforms. It’s mostly plant related. And if you can think of something else that it should be, well I sure would appreciate it if you let me know.
New plants this week…
In a recent grocery shop delivery I procured an adorable little spider plant in a darling little planter that has a face on it. The face is smiling slightly and I feel that the dear thing has no idea it’s about to die the tragic death of 100 spider plants before it. But maybe, just maybe, this recent crop of spider plants (there are 3 total in the house right now) will make it. I’ve also gone a little terrarium planting happy with existing little plants.
But mostly right now is plant maintenance time. Today found me freshening up the soil for a few plants, repotting a couple of plants, and if I remember to, making a new plant hanger for one of the hanging plants that I repotted from its plastic nursery pot. Spring is coming (in my part of the world). Actually strike that. It’s here. So it really is time to give all those little plant babies the extra care they’ve been needing.
Dead Plant…
Mmhmm. The spider plants are still alive. I’ve lost several little succulents that just don’t seem to agree with any method of caring for them. Don’t water. Do water. Water from the top. Water from the bottom. My little olive tree isn’t in the best shape ever but I think I moved it to its new warm sunny window home. And my crispy wavy fern is… struggling. I hope I can save her. She was a birthday gift from my partner and if I kill one of the plants he gave me maybe he won’t ever give me another. Ahem. But yes there have been a few casualties but on the whole things are looking up.
Links link links links links everybody!
A workshop on plants, well yes please!
This week there is just the one link for you as I’m getting ready to make an appreciation meal for my partner and my kid for taking such good care of me this week while I was under the weather. But I signed up for this online workshop and I thought it might be something you all could enjoy too. It’s $15 and the folks at this shop are super knowledgeable so I’m hoping to level up on my basics. If any of you would like to join, well what fun it would be.
The end.
That’s it for the week. Thank you all for joining me on this little plant adventure. If you liked this feel free to share it with a friend and let me know how I can improve it. If you hate this please let me know how I can make it better but also probably unsubscribe because… yeah. I’m kind of annoying <3
